Just a Walk From Your Hotel

Top Pittsburgh Sightseeing Attractions just a walk away from the conference headquarters:

Mt. Washington and the Inclines
No visit to Pittsburgh is complete without a ride on one of the restored 1800s inclines to the top of Mt. Washington, just across the river from the conference hotel. With plenty of great restaurants to choose from on top of this former "Coal Hill," and the stunning view of downtown (especially beautiful at night), Mt. Washington was ranked by USA Today as the second most beautiful place in America.

The National Aviary
Just across the Allegheny River is the National Aviary, where the world's most incredible birds are displayed in naturalistic exhibits and walk-through habitats. More than 600 species are represented, from hummingbirds the size of a thumb to Andean Condors with giant 10-foot wingspans. It’s America’s premiere bird zoo!

Andy Warhol Museum
The Andy Warhol Museum, an ultramodern tribute to the founder of pop art, is the most comprehensive single artist museum in the world. It houses more than 4,000 works of art by this native Pittsburgh artist, including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, films, and videos.

Carnegie Science Center & UPMC Sportsworks
The Carnegie Science Center is an "amusement park for the mind" where more than 250 hands-on, interactive exhibits bring together science and fun for all ages. Here, you can tour a WWII submarine or marvel at a four-story Omnimax film. Next door at UPMC SportsWorks, you can race against an Olympic sprinter, try out your fastball, or climb a rock wall.

The Mattress Factory
The beds are gone, and this former mattress factory is now home to a one-of-a-kind arts experience. The Mattress Factory museum of contemporary art is the best facility for installation art in the United States. All works are created by in-residence artists. From floors made of green-apple candy to a room full of frozen Victorian furniture, the avant-garde art is sometimes a bit bewildering, but always fun.

PNC Baseball Park
PNC Park is the home of the city’s major league baseball team, the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Cultural District
Pittsburgh’s Cultural District is the home of the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Civic Light Opera, the Pittsburgh Opera and O’Reilly Theatre.
